About Data Science Day

The Data Science Day 2018 is the first iteration of an annual event organized in IIT Bombay to celebrate data science. It would consist of a series of talks and panel discussion containing a mix of speakers from both industry and academia.

About WiDS Mumbai @ IIT-B

We are proud to be hosting one of 100+ worldwide events to celebrate, inspire and educate data scientists, regardless of gender, and support women in the field. The Global Women in Data Science Conference out of Stanford University provides an opportunity to hear about the latest data science related research in a number of domains, learn how leading-edge companies are leveraging data science for success, and connect with potential mentors, collaborators, and others in the field. All genders are invited to participate in the conference, which features exclusively female speakers. and panel discussions

Event FAQs

This event is for all students and professionals inside and outside IIT Bombay. More so, the event would be of great value to those interested and involved in data science providing an opportunity to hear about the latest data science related research and applications in a broad set of domains

This event is open for all people inside and outside IIT Bombay. Arrive at the main gate of IIT Bombay and say that you're here for the Data Science Day. Then, take a short walk to the FC Kohli Auditorium in KReSIT where the program would happen. If you're coming from outside IIT Bombay, please carry the following letter to show at the main gate.
The first half of the event would be a regional Women in Data Science (WiDS) event consisting of screenings of the keynote and a few highlights from the Stanford event. This would be followed by a series of talks from the speakers listed above. Each speaker would speak of their field and provide a perspective on how data science is used in their work. The latter half of the event would center around a panel discussion on the topic: AI and India- today and tomorrow.
